You're doing better than you think!

It’s a journey, not a race.

Maybe you can relate to this: lately, I seem to be bombarded with emails from all kinds of so-called “successful” people, wanting to sell me their secrets in one form or another, so I can be like them.

Sometimes this leads me to sleepless nights, anxiety and thoughts of inadequacy. Like I am somehow failing and not achieving to the same level these people are.

I started digging deeper, and not all these people were truly as they seem. I started to question: why would they be selling their courses to “share their secrets” if they really are doing that well?

I don’t believe they are doing this to “help me”, either. Their stories are just a hook for them to sell me a dream of a different and supposedly better lifestyle.

My situation is similar to that of many people at the moment, with job uncertainty and everything else that is happening outside my control. I don’t need the extra burden of these negative feelings. Besides, despite the situation, I feel I’m actually doing pretty well!

I’m not watching the news these days. I am working on a contingency plan and investing in my own business and skills. I am analysing my skill set, working on my passion and purpose, and looking at what value I can offer to companies. I‘m updating my skills, taking advantage of the countless online courses available now — those from respected and reputable sources — and joining webinars to expand my knowledge and network.

I hope that, like me, you are doing just fine and are proud of your own personal journey!
